Microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique that involves using a fine blade to deposit pigment into the skin, creating hair-like strokes for a natural look.

How long does microblading last?

Microblading usually lasts between 1 to 3 years, depending on some factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare practices. To keep the result fresh and have the desired appearance, touch-up sessions may be required after this time.

How long does the microblading procedure take?

A microblading session can take around 2 to 3 hours. This time includes various steps including:

Consultation: During the consultation, we talk about your preferences including assessing your natural brow shape, and decide on the desired shape and colour.

Preparation: The technician (Jina) will clean the skin and apply anesthetic gel on the area to minimize discomfort during the procedure.

Microblading procedure: Using a microblading pen and associated fine blades, the technician will create tiny, hair-like strokes and deposit pigment into the skin to mimic natural eyebrow hairs.

Adjustment and Touch-Ups: After the initial strokes are made, the technician will evaluate the brows' symmetry and make any necessary adjustments or additional strokes to achieve the best look.

Aftercare Instructions: Finally, Jina will provide you with instructions on how to take care of your brows to have a proper healing procedure and long-lasting results.

Factors that affect the results' longevity

Skin Type: Oily skin tends to break down the pigments more quickly than drier and normal skins, leading to faster fading.

Aftercare: It is essential to follow the aftercare instructions provided by Jina (our senior artist) to have better and long-lasting results. This includes avoiding excessive sun exposure, not picking at scabs, and refraining from using certain skincare products on the treated area.

Colour of Pigment Used: Lighter pigments in microblading usually fade faster than darker colours. The choice of pigment colour should take into account the client's skin tone and preferences.

Touch-Ups: Microblading is a two session procedure. Touch-up sessions will be required one month after the initial treatment and then every one to two years, depending on skin type, to keep the brows looking fresh.

metabolic rates: The longevity of pigments in the skin can be influenced by individual metabolic rates and natural bodily processes like cell turnover.

What are the microblading aftercare?

Keep the area clean: Gently clean the eyebrow area using a mild, fragrance-free cleanser by dabbing the treated area to clean the bodily fluids every half an hour.

Avoid water contact: For the first 7-10 days, avoid getting the eyebrows wet to allow the pigment to settle. This includes keeping them dry during showers.

Do not touch/pick scabs: Do not pick at scabs as this will pull out the pigments and can cause scarring.

Avoid makeup and skincare products: Do not wear any kind of makeup for at least 10 days.

Keep them dry during healing: Avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating or moisture around the brows.

Avoid sun exposure: Protect your eyebrows from direct sunlight, especially during the first few weeks post-treatment. Sun exposure can fade the pigment and affect the healing process.

Follow-up appointments: Schedule any recommended follow-up appointments for touch-ups or adjustments.

What are the microblading precare?

Avoid specific medications and supplements: Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E at least three days prior to the procedure, unless advised otherwise by your healthcare provider.

No caffeine intake: Refrain from consuming beverages with caffeine, such as coffee, cola, herbal teas, and similar drinks, for three days leading up to the treatment.

Minimize sun exposure: Avoid tanning activities for at least one week before the scheduled procedure.

Stop using some products: Discontinue the use of Glycolic acid, Chemical Peels, and Retin-A two weeks before the scheduled procedure.

Avoid Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products around the treated area for two weeks before and after the procedure. Check skincare products like moisturizers, face washes, BB or CC creams, and makeup primers for any acid ingredients.

You should be off Accutane for at least six months before considering the treatment.

Do not wax or tint: Refrain from eyebrow waxing or tinting for one week before the scheduled procedure.

Menstruation: It's recommended to avoid Permanent Makeup procedures during your menstrual cycle due to increased sensitivity.

Gel and Botox: If you've had fillers or Gel, ensure a minimum gap of six weeks before or after the microblading treatment.

If you've received Botox, make sure there is at least a two-week gap before or after the microblading treatment.

Microblading advantages?

Microblading has several advantages that make microblading a popular choice for individuals looking to enhance the appearance of their eyebrows with natural-looking and long-lasting results.

Natural-looking eyebrows: Microblading provides a natural appearance by mimicking the look of real hair, creating fuller, well-defined eyebrows.

Semi-permanent results: Unlike traditional tattooing, microblading is semi-permanent and allows for adjustments as trends or preferences change.

Time-saving: Saves time on daily makeup routines as it eliminates the need for filling in eyebrows with pencils or powders.

Long-lasting: While it's semi-permanent, microblading can last anywhere from 1 to 1.5 years with proper care, reducing the need for frequent touch-ups.

Customizable: The technique allows for customization in terms of eyebrow shape, thickness, and colour to suit individual preferences.

Quick procedure: Typically, the procedure itself is relatively quick, taking around 2-3 hours, depending on the desired outcome.

Minimal downtime: Recovery time is usually short, with minimal discomfort and downtime compared to other cosmetic procedures.

Enhances self-confidence: Many people find that having well-defined eyebrows enhances their overall appearance and boosts self-confidence.

Suitable for various conditions: Microblading can benefit those with sparse eyebrows, those experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions, or individuals seeking to reshape their brows.

Microblading after 2 years?

After about two years, the results of microblading can be different from person to person. Some factors such as skin type, aftercare, sun exposure, and individual body reactions can affect how long the microblading lasts and how it looks over time.

Generally, microblading pigment fades over time due to the natural exfoliation process of the skin. After two years, it's common for the colour to have softened or lightened, requiring a touch-up to maintain the desired look. Some individuals might find that the pigment has faded more significantly or unevenly, while others may still have fairly visible results.

Proper aftercare, such as sun protection and gentle care of the eyebrows, can help prolong the life of microblading. However, a touch-up or a new session might be needed to refresh and maintain the appearance of the eyebrows after a couple of years.
