One matter that you might have not paid attention to so far is a shaved head appearance. No matter what hair colour you have, the natural hair follicles that are in your scalp, due to the reflection of the sunlight turn gray. That is the reason a shaved head looks gray. Another frequently asked question about scalp micropigmentation is about colouring the hair after SMP treatment. Yes, you can dye your hair after scalp micropigmentation with your desired colour for 2 reasons:
- As previously mentioned, the hair follicles on the scalp are naturally gray, regardless of your hair colour, and they will maintain their realistic appearance even after colouring your hair.
- After 2 or 3 days, the roots of your hair grow and get matched with the colour of your previous hair colour.
how long after SMP I can dye my hair?
To protect the SMP pigments it is better to avoid chemical products such as dyes for at least two weeks. After 2 weeks of your SMP treatment, you can dye your hair.
Does scalp micropigmentation work for everyone?
Yes, due to the answers above, we can say scalp micropigmentation works for everyone with any type of skin, any skin colour and any hair colour.
Can I ask for brown Scalp micropigmentation ink?
Yes, you can ask and there are brown SMP inks in the market, but we are not using brown inks in MB Elegant Micro.
Although In many SMP clinics, brown inks are offered for blond hairs, most of those inks are provided by permanent makeup suppliers with no deep knowledge of scalp micropigmentation.
There are two reasons that brown colour is not used by most of the experienced artists and/or experts in SMP:
- The brown colour fades much faster than the black colour and needs a touch-up after a few months. So, you have to pay frequently to have a fresh look.
- The SMP inks are carbon-based, and they are organic inks which do not turn blue, green, and other colours like tattoo inks. Turning those black carbon-based inks to brown without additives is impossible, so, the possibility of turning to other colours would increase.
Does my hairstyle affect my scalp micropigmentation?
In some cases yes, and in some cases no. If you have baldness on your scalp you probably need to get sport-SMP as a shaved head look. However, in other cases, you can keep your hair long and get SMP treatment.
Does scalp micropigmentation work on gray hair?
Gray hair is the same as blond hair. Only lighter black should be used for the gray hair to create a realistic result on the scalp.
